The Sri Manjunatheswara English Medium  School made a humble beginning in 2004, initiated by the vision of Dr. D Veerendra Heggadeji who struck a human chord with the people of Dharwad to start a School affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) New Delhi.  Prof.N.Vajrakumar, Secretary, JSS, acted swiftly and a central school adopting CBSE syllabus came into being.

The JSS campus is set atop the Mailarlinga hill on NH4      kms from the railway station in Dharwad. Our School occupies a prime place among a host of  institutions in a sprawling campus of       acres, amid green environs.  The wonderful atmosphere has ‘Education’ written all over it, and presents the best setting for ‘Learning’.  No wonder the area came to be known as ‘Vidyagiri’!
